Mouna

Amongst the various plays produced by Sarvasva Productions, terming “MOUNA” as the most successful play would be appropriate. All the 6 shows which were performed attracted full house and it would not be wrong in saying that the storyline of the play was the reason for it.

In the events of life, Silence is always treated as the most prominent. It is a belief that Silence doesn’t engulf somebody without a reason.Sometimes it is treated as a punishment or sometimes it is termed as the retrospection of guilt. In times of happiness or sadness the struggle within always continues. When silence engulfs a person it doesn’t consider the age, financial status of a person, caste or creed. There are some incidents which keep rumbling in the walls of our heart whether it is the mistakes committed when a person was young, decisions made at the time of marriage, or even the life after marriage. This internal discussions and struggle continues throughout the phase of life. Memories of similar incidents push us into engulfing a very deep mode of silence which also awakens our inner conscience and strengthens us in our personal well being. “MOUNA” comprises of 6 short stories which show us different perspectives of Silence in the phase of life.

Short Stories written by Prakash Hegde,Sridhar Banavasi and Nagaraja Somayaji formed “MOUNA”. Selection of 6 stories among all stories was a very challenging task which were performed very efficiently by Nagaraja Somayaji.

The characters of “MOUNA” can be found within each of us. Each one of us will be able to relate the real life incidents which made us engulf silence for various reasons and struggles which are within our own self. The series of events which happen within us during the course of attaining this silence, through the process of silence and also overcoming this phase of silence is portrayed in a very efficient and a understandable manner. “MOUNA” takes us through a journey of retrospection through the characters of the play which speak to us in a personal and social front also shows us the most sensitive part of maintaining relations. Before the storm of Silence engulfs us, the shower of guilt which covers our mind and heart awakens into its true form. The very reason due to which “MOUNA” has become very popular among theater enthusiasts is this storyline which reaches every persons soul.

We would love to thank all our well wishers and various senior theater artists who stood with us in achieving this feat.
